I'm not sure, but on the bottle it tells you the proof. Divide the proof by 2, and you have %. Ex: Jack Daniel's is 70 proof, so it is 35% by volume alcohol. Hope this helps at the liqour store.

Appleton Rum is the best. They have many varieties which vary in proof, but I like the "Special". It is such a treat, it is like liquid candy. They also have a 21 year old rum which is exquisite. I'm sorry I don't recall the proof of the rum, as it was the flavor I was interested in.
