RAM Upgrade and swap file ?

I recently upgraded the RAM on my laptop. It was 256MB earlier , now I added a 1GB card , so its 1.24GB now. Now the laptop starts very fast but when I run a program for eg. IE my harddisk indicator blinks vigorously which makes me think that the application is still using the swap file on the harddisk instead of using the full RAM available. So how can I make the applications use the full RAM? By ecolaturTheoretically, if you resize your swapfile to zero (or very small) then windows wouldnt be able to use it and would be forced to use only ram. But in practice, this would not be a very good idea.

If you have noticed a speed increase, why worry about the fact that the light is still blinking?

So what?

have you tried over clocking, but if you do not know what you are doing to much over clocking could be harmful,it is hard to say with out the make of your system
when u start any program, the HD LED will blink obviously cause the program is stored on the HD and it needs to be copied to the RAM before i can be executed!
Did you upgrade the RAM yourself or paid a technician? If the technician then call them back and tell 'em what happening. I'd be worried if the light keeps blinking when it didn't before the upgrade.
You cant do that.
My friend use small Swap file and he cant install a Software.
