What causes turbolences on an airplane? are they any dangerous? By Sylvia
Best Answer
Turbulence is when a plane hits "rough spots" in the air. It has to do with cold air descending at the same time warmer air is rising. It's a normal occurrence in flight, and pilots try to stay away from air pockets that may be turbulent in order to give the passengers a smoother ride. Turbulence isn't dangerous as long as you're on a plane with an experienced pilot who knows how to deal with it, and all commercial pilots are well-trained in handling turbulence. Other Answer
They usually only serve them in first class. They are only dangerous when not cooked long enough.
Pockets of unstable air. Normally they are associated with thunderstorms that have very high clouds. Also they can be found when you hit the Jet Stream.
Are they dangerous? No, there has never been a record of plane being brought down in mid flight due to turbulance
I am a pilot. Turbolence occurs when you hit areas of low pressure. They are usually not dangerous at all. You just have to be careful when flying through it. You only drop about 5-8 feet.
