We are flying to Dublin next week, renting a car, and driving to dingle. Good idea?

What route is the best way to drive from Kilkenny to Dingle? How long will it take and are the roads over there as narrow as we read? Any input will help. thanks. By Jay BDistance: 350km including 66km on motorways

yes the roads outside main towns are narrow ..2 cars can't pass each other ...dont forget to see Connors Pass when you are there ..its an amazeing sight to see...have fun and enjoy your holiday
The road from Dublin airport cuts straight to Limerick. If you have to make a detour to Kilkenny, it will make it longer by about an hour. The Dublin/Limerick road is now very good and you can make Limerick in about 1 1/2 hours. Then the fun begins. From Limerick there are a couple of routes so stick very carefully to the map - a good map at that. Have a wonderful time, it is a beautiful part of the country.

By the way, did you ever hear this about Kilkenny: 'If ever you go to Kilkenny, look out for the Hole in the Wall, you get twenty-five eggs for a penny, and butter for nothing at all'...............
