We are stopping at Montego Bay on our cruise in October. Any hints at what to do, shopping?

Wanting to know what we should plan to do? Is the shopping good there? By Joy SYes, read those cruise boards! But apart from that, I would think twice about shopping in Montego Bay. The locals only tolerate cruise visitors because they bring money, and there is only a small main shopping district with a lot of aggressive merchants and street vendors. In Jamaica as a general rule, I would stick to packaged tours in order to avoid crime and anti-colonial malice.

I'll try to honest... when in Montego bay, you cano go to the Rose Hall great house.. historic plantation style house with guided tour and history that will leave you asking questions..or get on a tour bus to Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios 90 mins away, then that's cool as well... Shopping for tourists is pretty reasonable, there's the hip strip in Montego bay, where you WILL be safe.... the beach is good, AVOID THE OCCASIONAL OFFER TO BUY THINGS FROM PUSHY STRANGERS!...DRUGS IS ILLEGAL THERE!.. have fun! Try Jamaican JERK chicken/pork
alot of people go to dunns river falls. There are also other falls such as YS falls which are less crowded. If you are a bit adventerous, the canopy tour is a blast.
