The airport on the way home.
Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre. Arc De Triumph
and many other sights.
You have to visit The Louvre, go on top the Eiffel Tower, go shopping on the Champs Elysées, Montmartre... Find a nice hotel in town so it will be easier.
You can see the Eiffel tower from most of the arrondisements in Paris, so skip a trip there.
Go to the rooftop cafe at the department store Printemps - you can catch an amazing view of the entire city.
Go to Musee d'Orsay - it's much more manageable than the Louvre. My favorite is the Musee Rodin - the gardens are beautiful as are the sculptures.
My favorite neighborhood is the Marais (4th) -- there are great shops and restaurants.
For a truly French dining experience, go to Bofinger (pronounced "Bo-fon-jay") in the Bastille.
Climb up to the top of Montmartre and enjoy the views from up there.
Saint Germain (6th) is also a great neighborhood to stroll/shop/eat.
For an outdoor market experience, go to the Rue Mouffetard in the 5th.
If you have a day, visit Chartre cathedral. It's truly magnificent.
Have a great trip!
It really depends on your interests. Some people don't have an appreciation for art, so the Louvre probably wouldn't be high on their list of priorities.
However, there is a plethora of places to explore in Paris.
In regards to museums, there's the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay (Impressionists), the Pompidou Center (modern art), Picasso Museum, Rodin Museum (See The Thinker and The Kiss), Musee Marmottan (Monet), Carnavalet Museum (free!), Invalides (see Napoleon's Tomb and visit the accompanying war museum), the Conciergerie (see where Marie-Antoinette and countless others were held captive prior to their date with the guillotine), the Cluny Museum (museum of the Middle Ages...see the Unicorn tapestries).
The cathedrals/houses of worship are beautiful: Notre-Dame Cathedral (you can climb to the top of the bell towers), Sacre-Couer Basilica (offers a splendid panoramic view from the highest natural point in Paris), Sainte-Chapelle (the stained glass church...this was built to house the Crown of Thorns which now resides in Notre-Dame's treasury), St. Sulpice and the list goes on.
There's always the obvious: the Eiffel Tower. Catch it when it sparkles at night...quite a pretty sight.
Other monuments include the Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Arche, the Pantheon.
You can also stroll along the Seine, hop across the many bridges in Paris or take a few strolls. I enjoy strolling through Tuileries Garden down the Champs Elysees. It's a bit of a walk, but it's very scenic. The Marais Neighborhood is great. I love Montmartre...see the artists at Place du Tertre.
