In the US, we tip 15% - 20% for all dining where we are served by a waitress or waiter, or a buck per order for the bartender. Is it included in the bill in Ireland or do we still need to include a tip when checking out? By JEFFBEV

Tipping is actually not required in Europe; although they won't turn it down.
In in the US, servers and bartenders get paid at a lower minimum rate because their pay actually comes from tips. Not so in Europe. The servers and bartenders actaully get paid the normal rate, if not more.
They do not expect to get tipped.
This explains why Europeans, when visiting the US, suck at tipping!!!! Many do not know how much they should tip, so normally they simply leave the change or leave only a dollar at a $50 tab!!!
And they call us UGLY!!!!
Rat B-stards!!!
as long as you don't tip your guinness on the floor you can tip what you feel the service deserves.. if it's good 15% if its crap nothing!!!!Kinda depends how tight you are...
We tip, but definately not 15-20% like in the US. But, unlike the US, the servers here earn much more on an hourly basis so they don't actually rely on tips, so don't feel too guilty. A 5-10 % tip is more than enough!
