I've lived in Nepal for 2 years, it was absolutely wonderful. The people were very nice, of course this was before the king was killed, and welcoming. Just do not just randomly choose a restaurant to eat in, don't mess around with stray animals, and don't drink the water! The shopping is fabulous, as are the naturalistic views, I suggest that you go trekking and visit Pokahra and the Swyanbunath.
