Pourpre- Purple. (Poor-pra) I believe. I am not very good at spelling how it sounds. Sorry. Have an awesome day :)
Purple is an adjective, therefore has a masculine and a feminine spelling depending on what noun you are describing.
The masculine form is "violet" pronounced "vee-oh-lay", The feminine form is "violette" pronounced "vee-oh-let"
Example, a purple skirt (feminine) is "une jupe violette", a purple bed sheet (masculine) translates as "un drap violet".
The word "pourpre" is not really a good translation of purple. "Pourpre" is really translated "crimson".
Best of Luck To You
