easier sequence for the mind to grasp for typing. its a psychological and scientifical thing
Because the person who invented the typewritter figured this is best.
iam also serching for that ans if u get that plz mail me.my id is aniruddh_rocks@yahoo.co.in .I will be very great full to u !
I used to think that same thing before I learned how to type. The reason is that some keys are used more often than others (e is used more than z), so you they need to be in a spot that is easier to reach.
Even if they were in alphabetical order, you'd still have to memorize 26 positioned keys. If you don't know how to type yet, you'll see what I mean when you learn.
The typewriter was invented over a hundred years ago, with the significance of the letters relating to the "most used", therefore easier to type with speed. Notice where the Q,Z, and X are? Neat way to do it, don't you think? Now you got the idea!
the keys are arranged such that its easier to type considering in mind the frequently used words of english..the most widely used is the QWERTY keyboard though there r others too...
originally to slow typists as physically, typewriters kept getting jammed cos typists got too quick...
...nowerdays, keyboards are just laid out that way because that is the most popular way.
There are a lot of projects to get keyboards changed, but so far none of them are as popular as qwerty...
the a,b,c,d etc are not in sequence so that the person who is typing feels more comfortable as you can see that the letters we write more are given at middle while letters we write less are on side
The arrangement of the keyboard is for typing speed. The most frequently used letters correspond to the most easily manipulated fingers.
Think about it, how well can you type with your thumbs? Pretty bad so they're left for the space bar. Your first and index finders are the accurate ones so the vowels and the more frequent consonants are arranged for those fingers and so it goes on.
its a time tested thing made for the typing to be done in a more fast speed.
Hello, i read this in one of my books, it's written by Paulo Coelho:
he wrote that somewhen the keys were in normal alfabetic order. the problem was that everyone who used type-mahines, typed very very fast, so the machines become not useable because thay cannot be used as fast from some technical problems(a lots of the keys were sticked, if they tried to write so fast). So , a man on a day said that let's mix up those keys, so nobody can learn their sequence. now i don't know if it's true, but i believe this. bye
the English keyboard for a typewriter was invented in the 18th century in Britain. at that time the order / sequence of keys was determined. now it has been proved that the sequence is most unscientific. When computers came along, the same keyboard which was being used for a mechanical typewriter was adopted. but no one wants to change it because those who know typing would not want to learn again. i don't see any possibility of the keyboard changing in the near future. incidentally, the left little finger, hte weakest of fingers has to work the most while using hte keyboard.
hello friend
